FRANCHISING IS THE NEXT BIG THING - SAYS AFRICA FRANCHISE INDEX 2019

Hello! It's been a while but you can be sure I've been up to something worthwhile.

So, we've been all out to support Africa Franchise Center (AFC) on the presentation of the maiden edition of their annual franchise index and I can tell you it's been well worth our while. I'll be sharing with you, some interesting facts from these index:

1. The index tested 18 countries across Africa and over a thousand respondents.

2. 42.5% of franchise business owners in Africa are between the ages of 20-30 years while 57.6% work in a franchise business. I'm sure you're as surprised as I was reading this.

3. Food and Beverage sector records the highest patronage at 72.5% with retail, business services and fashion & beauty following.

4. 51.4% of consumers are most likely to visit a franchise business because of the uniformity of service they enjoy or the predictability of the experience.

5. Franchise businesses are growing rapidly in Africa as indicated by 42.5% of the respondents. 

These data shows that there is an increasing awareness of the value and benefits that franchise businesses possess and franchise businesses would enjoy steadily increasing demand in the coming years.
